Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee has asked traders to keep the city roads free from encroachment for smooth traffic flow. Sanjay Kumar, Special Officer, JNAC, said the traders and shopkeepers should keep their wares at least two feet away from the roads. People should park their vehicles at least two feet away from the roads, he said.
According to Kumar, the minimum distance to be maintained from the roads is two feet. A yellow line will be marked on the roads to ensure the minimum distance is maintained to keep the roads free from encroachment, he said.
Kumar said several teams of JNAC were surveying city markets and roads to get an idea of the encroachment problem. The teams are telling shopkeepers that fines would be imposed on those found crossing the yellow line. Legal action would also be taken against the violators, said Kumar.
According to Kumar, the most congested roads are found in Sakchi, Bhalubasa, Birsanagar, Kadma, Baridih and Sonari. People in these areas and other parts of the city should be linked to the two feet drive to keep the city roads free from encroachment, he said.
