Jamshedpur, July 3: A delegation of Jamshedpur block’s Panchayat representatives’ union led by President Rakesh Choubey, met the family members of deceased rail employee SK Pillai at their Bagbera Railway Traffic Colony residence on Monday and expressed grief. The delegation also heard the facts that led to the death of SK Pillai during treatment of burn injuries sustained during his suicide bid by immolation.

The delegates visited the disputed land site that was the bone of contention. Expressing grief over the incident, Sangh President Rakesh Choubey said that the Association was with the Pillai family during the hour of grief. He cited that before his death, railway employee SK Pillai had, in his statement from the hospital bed, had levelled serious allegations against RPF and land department personnel accusing them of mental harassment due to which he was compelled to attempt suicide by setting himself ablaze. “The Union will conduct a high-level inquiry into the entire matter after talks with the DRM and General Manager of the Railways so that legal punitive action can be taken against the propagators of Pillai’s suicide attempt and also to ensure that such incidents do not recur in future,” stated Rakesh Choubey.  Panchayat Samiti member Sunil Gupta, deputy chief Santosh Thakur, ward member Seema Pandey, ward member representative Rakesh Singh and president of Banna Gupta Fans Club Anil Singh were among others present during the visit.
