Chaibasa: Elderly couple murdered at their house in West Singhbhum

Chaibasa, July 3: An elderly couple Sakari Diggi (65 years) and his wife Badegi Diggi (60 years) were killed with sharp weapons while they were sleeping at home in Jomro Adivasi Tola of Otar Panchayat under Naxal-affected Karaikela police station in West Singhbhum district.

Both of them died on the spot due to several attacks on their heads by the criminals.

Unknown criminals have carried out this incident late on Sunday night. On Monday morning, the village head informed the police about the incident. After getting information about the incident, Karaikela police station in-charge Deepak Chrisley reached the spot along with the police force, took both the dead bodies in possession and sent them to Chakradharpur sub-division hospital for postmortem and started investigating the matter.

Till the time of filing this report on Monday, the reason behind the murder of the couple could not be revealed.

It is being suspected that the elderly couple has been murdered due to mutual dispute, land dispute or witchcraft.

Although the villagers are not ready to tell anything regarding the murder. There is mourning in the village. The men have fled the village after the incident.

The deceased has four daughters and all four are married. Only the husband and wife were in the house at the time of the incident. Many cases are coming to the fore in Sakari Diggi and his wife Badgi Diggi murder case. Experts tell that the villagers killed the husband and wife because of the witchcraft suspicion.

However, some experts say that after the marriage of all four daughters, no one is the owner of their land. Because of which his relatives killed both of them. There is also information that someone had a fight with Sakari Diggi and his wife Badgi Diggi on Sunday.,
