Jamshedpur, Sept 21: Police here claimed to have solved the case of mysterious disappearance of a man, identified as Lakho Singh, by recovering his dead body and arresting his alleged killer. They recovered a white scooter and mobile phones reportedly used in the crime. The body has been sent to MGM Medical College for postmortem examination.
The arrested accused was identified as Rounak Singh, resident of Deepu Basti under Burmamines police station area.
According to SSP Anoop Birtharay, the accused persons, two of whom, identified as Basant Upadhyaya and Mohammad Afzal, were arrested earlier, had shot Lakho Singh dead at DVC Maidan in Parsudih. After killing Lakho, the accused persons hid his body in a plastic mat under a bush, said the SSP.
Birtharay said Lakho Singh had allegedly scuffled with Basant Upadhyaya some two years ago. To avenge the incident, Upadhyaya and his associates killed Lakho.
