Jamshedpur, March 4: Bistupur police arrested one Gurpreet Singh Birdi, a native of Amritsar, from Rairangpur in Odisha in connection with alleged fraudulent land deals committed by him.
Police officials said the accused had taken money from several people in the selling land to them in the last 12-13 years. Of late, the accused had taken Rs 3.4 lakh from Rajesh Rajat of Bagbera. Cases of cheating have been registered against Birdi by over 40 people, police said. The accused lived in Sundernagar, police said.
