Jamshedpur officials asked to complete development schemes before Monsoon

Jamshedpur: In a decisive push to expedite ongoing development initiatives, a high-level review meeting was held at the Collectorate Auditorium on Monday to assess the progress of projects sanctioned under the Untied Fund, MP-MLA Fund, District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT), CSR, Tourism, and Technical Department.

The meeting was conducted as per the directives of District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner  Ananya Mittal, and was chaired by Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC)  Aniket Sachan. The DDC reviewed the updated status of various schemes department-wise and issued strict instructions to ensure the timely completion of all ongoing and pending development works.

Sachan emphasized that all the mentioned funds are directly linked to public welfare and the execution of crucial infrastructure projects such as health centers, Anganwadi centers, roads, bridges, and community buildings. “These projects benefit a large section of the population. Therefore, it is imperative that they are completed within the stipulated time to serve the intended communities,” he said.

During the review, certain schemes were flagged for delays due to pending agreements or foundation stone laying ceremonies. Taking strong note of these issues,  Sachan directed all concerned executive engineers to initiate these schemes within a week. “The agreement process must not hinder development. Contractors must be made accountable to begin and execute work as per contractual terms,” he added.

Particular attention was drawn to the repair of dilapidated Anganwadi centers, construction of new community buildings, and the completion of bridges and culverts. The DDC instructed departments to accelerate work before the onset of monsoon, ensuring that a majority of physical infrastructure projects are either completed or reach advanced stages of execution to avoid seasonal delays.

Sachan reiterated the importance of adhering to quality standards in all development projects. “Timely delivery should not come at the cost of quality. Departments must ensure that work is executed in compliance with technical standards and proper monitoring is carried out,” he asserted.

The meeting witnessed the participation of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC)  Bhagirath Prasad, District Planning Officer  Mrityunjay Kumar, and executive and assistant engineers of all technical departments involved in the implementation of development schemes.
