Jamshedpur, Jan 21: The three month wait of parents to see their kids being admitted to the best schools in the city will conclude amid bated breath as 42 of the 65 private city schools will release their lists of admission results on Saturday, January 22. The wheel of fortune of the 42 schools will start yielding results from 6 am to 4 pm on Saturday, January 22.
The unharnessed desires of parents can be deciphered from the fact that there have been more than one lakh applications for 10,500 seats available. As per directives of the Education Department, schools were to complete the lottery by January 20. Accordingly, lottery was conducted in the presence of Education Department officials. Among the schools were Telco Valley View, Andhra Association English School and Rajendra Vidyalay School.
Not willing to take chances, many parents had filled in applications of several schools. After the release of the selection lists, parents are expected to run around other schools where they had put in applications for admission of their children. Rajendra Vidyalay in Sakchi will be the first to release the list on its website at 6 am and also paste copies on its notice board. DBMS English School Kadma, Hilltop School at Telco and Vivek Vidyalay in Govindpur will release their lists at 4 pm on January 22.
Parents will be able to see the result of their children by visiting the school. All information including the admission date and fees will be made available to the parents. All information related to admission in schools will also be put on the notice board of schools.
In the desire to give better education to their children, parents fill the forms of many schools. In this mad rush for the best, many names appear in many schools, but for some others, it is disappointment written all over. Andhra Association English School Principal, B Uma Shankar Rao said that the lottery was done through software to take admission in L KG entry level class. The members of the school management, Principal and Vice Principal were present during the process.
All schools except Loyola, Convent, Carmel and Hilltop will release the list of selected candidates on their respective websites and notice boards. The results of Loyola, Convent and Carmel Junior College, Sonari and Hilltop Telco will be released only on their respective websites.
An appeal has been made by school managements that parents should not feel upset and not to crowd school premises to scan the list of selected students in pursuance of COVID protocols.
 District Education Superintendent Vineet Kumar said that schools had been directed to conduct lotteries between January 7 and 21 following which the results were to be released.
