Jamshedpur sees 3 Covid deaths, 466 fresh cases

Jamshedpur, Jan 21: Jamshedpur on Friday continued to record COVID-19 recoveries outnumbering the new infections with 466 people contracting the contagion and pushing the overall caseload to 65,516.

COVID-related fatalities remained high with 3 people succumbing to the virus in the last 24 hours taking the toll to 1112 till date, the health bulletin said.

According to East Singhbhum Covid-19 medical bulletin, as many as 1195 people have walked out of healthcare facilities aggregating 59989 and leaving 4415 active infections.

The number of samples tested today was at 8133 pushing the cumulative number of specimens examined so far to 2171336 till date.

Jamshedpur’s positivity rate – the number of people testing positive for every 100 tests – was 5.73 percent with the latest addition in cases.

Telco area of Steel City reported the maximum 75 cases on Friday. 59 cases have come from Mango, 30 from Sakchi and 42 from Sonari, 39 from Kadma.  

The positivity rate rose to 3.02 per cent in Jamshedpur.

The cumulative coronavirus case count stands at 65516 and the death count is now 1112, according to the latest health bulletin.

8133 COVID-19 tests, including 1997 RT-PCR, 5767 RAT and 369 TrueNat were conducted in the last 24 hours in the city.

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 815678 test per million in the district. The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 92.22% while the mortality rate is 1.70%.

So far in Jamshedpur 2177729 samples have been collected out of which 2171336 have been tested and 2105820 have turned out to be negative.
