Jamshedpur: Nodal Officers to report on school, health, and welfare scheme quality every week

Jamshedpur: Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal directed Nodal Officers of all blocks and municipal bodies to intensify efforts for monitoring government services and welfare schemes at the Panchayat level. The objective is to ensure that deserving beneficiaries receive the benefits of public welfare initiatives and to improve the quality of government institutions and services.

The District Magistrate instructed Nodal Officers to conduct field visits every Saturday, with the specific Panchayat for inspection being communicated by Friday evening. During these visits, officers are required to inspect key facilities such as Anganwadi Centres, schools, Public Distribution System (PDS) shops, health centers, Panchayat Bhawans, MNREGA schemes, and warehouses.

Mittal emphasized that these visits aim to assess the functioning of institutions and the implementation of welfare schemes like the Jal Jeevan Mission, MNREGA, the Chief Minister’s Maniniya Samman Yojana, pensions, and vaccination drives. Officers are tasked with evaluating the quality of education, healthcare, food distribution, and agriculture and horticulture opportunities in the Panchayat.

Nodal officers are required to submit their findings in a detailed report by the following Monday. A review meeting will be held every Friday to assess the progress of compliance with directives issued during the previous week’s inspections.

The District Magistrate stressed that officers must prioritize these visits and notify the administration if they need to leave the district headquarters. Deputation arrangements will be made for any unavoidable absences.

The following officers have been assigned responsibility for various blocks and municipal bodies:  Deputy Development Commissioner – Golmuri cum Jugsalai (Jamshedpur), Project Director, ITDA – Ghatshila, Additional Deputy Commissioner – Patamda, Director, NEP – Gudabanda, Special Allocation Officer – Dhalbhumgarh, Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order) – Musabani , District Supply Officer – Dumria, Sub-Divisional Officer, Dhalbhum – Bodam, Sub-Divisional Officer, Ghatshila – Chakulia, Land Reforms Deputy Collector, Ghatshila – Baharagora, Land Reforms Deputy Collector, Dhalbhum – Potka, District Panchayati Raj Officer – Jamshedpur Akshes, District Land Acquisition Officer – Mango Municipal Corporation and District Transport Officer – Jugsalai Municipal Council.

Mittal highlighted that the initiative aims to bring qualitative improvements in government institutions and services across the Panchayat areas. Regular inspections and reviews are expected to address gaps and enhance the delivery of essential public services, ensuring that they reach the intended beneficiaries efficiently.
