Jamshedpur: Neighbour booked in jewelry theft at Bistupur

Jamshedpur, April 27: Unidentified thieves stole jewelry worth several lakh from the house of one Punita Kumari in Shivpuri Colony near Garam Nala, under Bistupur police station area on Tuesday, police said.

According to police, Punita Kumari has registered a case against her neighbour Deepak Mahato in this connection. Deepak was allegedly seen at the terrace of Punita’s house in the afternoon of 26^th April last. Punita had gone out of her house to fetch her child from school. When she returned hom, she found the house in a mess and her jewelry missing from safe. Her neighbors told her they had seen Deepak at her terrace in the afternoon, cops said.

Police officials said the accused had fled his house after the theft incident. They said raids were on to arrest the accused.
