Jamshedpur, April 27: Senior Advocate Chinmoy Kanti Sarkar was cremated at Swarnarekha Burning Ghat, Bhuiyandih, on Wednesday. A large number of relatives, family friends and well-wishers were present to bid him last farewell.
Before cremation, Sarkar’s mortal remains were taken to the Jamshedpur Civil Court premises where a large number of advocates paid floral tributes to the departed soul. A hearse carried Sarkar’s body to the court premises where all members of District Bar Association were present to get the last glimpse of their fellow member.
Jharkhand State Bar Council vice chairman Rajesh Kumar Shukla and members of the ad hoc committee of District Bar Association were present along with other advocates. They remembered late Sarkar as a jovial and learned man always seen wearing a charming smile on his face and willing to help one and all with philanthropic spirit.
District Bar Association observed a condolence meet at the Bar Hall today. Half day work was stalled in honour of the departed Bar member.
Sarkar breathed his last at his Madhav Bag Colony in Mango yesterday morning. He reportedly died of sudden cardiac arrest at his house.
