Jamshedpur, June 12: The eagerly awaited National Ho Film Festival’s Cine Award Ceremony is scheduled for June 16 at the XLRI Auditorium in CH Area of Jamshedpur. The event will be replete with a vibrant cultural extravaganza. The awards category will include Best Film, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Director.

In the National Ho Film Festival’s award categories, a total of 4 feature films, 7 short films, and 27 music video albums have been included for being judged. Jury screenings for two films, namely “Birla” and “Phagun Punai,” were conducted on Wednesday, overseen by a distinguished panel comprising film producer and director Rajuraj Biruli, film choreographer Pradhan Bansingh, film actor Prakash Purti, and editor Charan Ugursundi. The screening for music video albums is scheduled for Thursday.

Sura Biruli, President of the All India Ho Film Association, revealed that the Cine Award ceremony would encompass 15 different categories for Ho feature films, along with 10 awards each for short films and music video albums. Chief Minister Champai Soren has been invited as the chief guest for the ceremony, which will also witness the presence of MPs, MLAs of Kolhan, filmmakers, producer-directors, educationists, litterateurs, social workers, intellectuals, and heads of self-governance systems.

Meanwhile, jury screenings for films selected in the National Ho Film Festival are currently on at the Adivasi Ho Samaj Bhawan in Golmuri. The screenings commenced on June 11, featuring films such as “Bar Bite Hasa Lagid” and “The Ho: People of the Rice Pot,” followed by “Birla” and “Phagun Punai” on the subsequent days. Thursday will see the screening of 27 music video albums, including popular titles like “Janam-Janam,” “Dil Pere Duku,” and “Adivasi Ko.”

Sura Biruli expressed confidence that all arrangements for the Cine Award Ceremony-2024 had been meticulously handled. “The audience can look forward to captivating performances by actors and actresses associated with tribal films, as well as artistes from Jharkhand, Bengal, and Odisha. Besides cultural presentations, the ceremony promises an array of entertaining programs, ensuring a memorable experience for all participants and spectators,” Biruli said.
