Jamshedpur: National Deworming Day on September 15, 5,69,393 children to be covered 

Jamshedpur: National Deworming Day will be observed across all government and private educational and training institutions, as well as Anganwadi centres of East Singhbhum district on September 15. Albendazole tablets will be administered to children and adolescents, while a mop-up round for those left out will be conducted on September 19.
A target has been set to deworm 5,69,393 children and adolescents in the 1–19 age group. To ensure effective execution, a meeting of the District Coordination Committee was held at the Collectorate under the chairmanship of Deputy Development Commissioner Nagendra Paswan, as per the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi. The meeting was attended by Civil Surgeon Dr Sahir Pal, DRCHO Dr Ranjit Panda, DSE Ashish Pandey, MOICs, CDPOs and other officials.
Civil Surgeon Dr Sahir Pal informed that ANMs, Sahiyas and Anganwadi workers will play a crucial role in administering the tablets. The DDC stressed that deworming is essential for improving children’s overall health, nutrition levels, hemoglobin count, and intellectual development. He directed all departments, including Health, Social Welfare, Education and partner NGOs, to work in close coordination to ensure the programme’s success.
