Jamshedpur: The birthday of Jamshedpur East MLA and member of the Women and Child Development Committee, Purnima Sahu, was celebrated on Monday at Sido Kanhu Basti in Burmamines. On the occasion, women from slum settlements who have been actively working for child rights and social welfare were specially honoured. MLA Purnima Sahu felicitated them with sarees and food items, taking blessings from the “matrushakti.”
Addressing the gathering, Sahu expressed gratitude for the love and support of the people of Jamshedpur East. She said that receiving the blessings of mothers and women on her birthday was the greatest gift and a source of continuous inspiration for public service. She reaffirmed her commitment to work for the safety, welfare, and convenience of the people.
The programme was attended by Burmamines Mandal President Suraj Singh, social worker Lalit Das, Neeraj Kumar, Gyan Singh Chauhan, Subhash Mukhi, Rupesh Sahu, Sanjay Sharma, along with several local residents and party workers.
Meanwhile, at her Agrico residence, a large number of BJP workers and representatives of social organisations queued up to extend birthday wishes to the MLA. Party members greeted her with flowers, sweets, and shawls, wishing her good health, long life, and success. Expressing gratitude, Sahu said the affection and blessings of the people give her energy to serve society with greater dedication.
Earlier in the day, she began her birthday by offering prayers at Shri Bajrangbali Temple in Golmuri Chowk.
