Jamshedpur, April 22: Narbheram Hansraj English School (NHES) conducted host of activities to celebrate Earth Day on Friday, April 22. The theme of Earth Day 2022 is ‘Invest in our Planet’.
Students of the school resolved to protect the environment and biodiversity. An awareness session on the theme ‘No to Plastic’ was also conducted, whereby cloth pouches were made by the school sub staff and painted by students to encourage them to use eco-friendly items.
A seminar was conducted for the students of the school. Guest speakers for the occasion were Dr. Sweta Sharma (Asst. Professor at Graduate College for Women) and Dr. Hishmi Jamil Hussain (Head Biodiversity Corporate Sustainability, Tata Steel).

Dr Sharma spoke on biodiversity, climate change and measures to save the Earth. She also gave guidelines on careers pertaining to environment. Dr. Hishmi Jamil Hussain spoke on climate change and its impact on our planet.
“The main aim of the seminar is to raise awareness about the growing concerns of overpopulation, loss of biodiversity and depleting quality of environment,” remarked School Principal Paramita Roy Chaudhary.
Students of Std 5 launched plantation drive in the school in teams of two. Each team will be responsible for the care of plants.
Also, as a part of Earth Day celebration, The Viral Company and NHES collaborated to create a video to bring about awareness on environmental issues.
The school under the auspices of the Principal, Paramita Roy Chaudhary celebrated the Earth Day, doing its best to impart value based education to ‘Save Nature, Save our Earth’.
