Jamshedpur NAC to invite bids for parking space settlement on Jan 27

Mail News Service

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) is set to invite bids on January 27 for the settlement of six parking spaces in the Sakchi and Bistupur areas. The tender forms will be available for purchase from January 20 to January 22. The contractor who submits the highest bid will be granted the parking facility for one year. The parking rules and conditions will remain unchanged.

The starting bid for parking spaces in Sakchi ranges from Rs 16.30 lakh to Rs 85.10 lakh, while in Bistupur, the bids will start from Rs 20.80 lakh to Rs 89.50 lakh, depending on the parking space. The tender form prices are set between Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000.

Despite the tender process, revenue collection has seen a decline at the departmental level. For over a year, parking fees have been collected by contractors at six parking lots in the Sakchi and Bistupur areas. However, the fee collection process has resulted in reduced government revenue, with former parking contractors still managing collections.

There have been concerns from parking contractors, many of whom have expressed reluctance to submit tender forms this time, citing the lack of interest in managing parking facilities under the current terms. They argue that contractors will not participate in the upcoming tender process due to the low revenue generation under the current departmental arrangement.
