Jamshedpur, Nov 24 : A shocking incident has come to light from Dumaria police station area in East Singhbhum district, where an unidentified man was brutally murdered with a sharp-edged weapon.
To destroy evidence, the perpetrators dumped the body in dense bushes.
Police received information on Sunday evening from local villagers and immediately reached the spot to recover the body.
Based on the statement of Dumaria Police Station in-charge Pancham Tigga, a case of murder has been registered against unknown accused and investigation is underway.
According to police, they were alerted on the evening of November 23 about a body lying in bushes near the road from Dibudih to Bahada.
A police team rushed to the location beneath Purnapani Road, near a river surrounded by thick vegetation, where the body was found in suspicious condition.
Deep injury marks inflicted by a sharp weapon were visible on the victim’s neck.
Police completed the inquest proceedings and sent the body for post-mortem to MGM Medical College.
As of the time of reporting, the identity of the deceased remains unknown. Local villagers are being contacted to help in establishing his identity.
Police are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas and searching for possible clues at the crime scene.
The investigation aims to determine the sequence of events and identify those involved.
Officials said that the post-mortem report will provide more clarity on the time and exact manner of death.
The incident has created a panic in the area, and efforts are being made to solve the case at the earliest.
