Jamshedpur MP visits Sonari Domuhani, reviews cleanliness for Makar Sankranti-Tusu Parv

Jamshedpur, Jan 12: Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato visited Sonari Domuhani Ghat on Thursday to review the ongoing cleaning drive launched by Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) in view of Makar Sankranti and Tusu Parv. He inspected the riverbank and expressed dissatisfaction over lack of cleanliness. He said cleaning of the river bank and other water bodies was important as a large number of people come here for ritual bathing on the occasion of Makar Sankranti and Tusu Parv. He asked the JNAC officials to expedite the cleaning work. He said he had sent a letter to the Deputy Commissioner in this regard and requested her to ensure cleaning of water bodies and river banks.

The MP also spoke to the officials of Swarnarekha Multi-purpose Project and Kharkai Canal Division and asked them to release water in the Kharkai and Swarnarekha rivers on the eve of Makar Sankranti to ensure that the water level is adequate for bathing purpose.
