Jamshedpur, Dec. 17: MP Bidyut Baran Mahto on Friday met the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and he demanded the construction of a hospital with a high level medical system with the help of the Central Government in Baharagora or Ghatshila area.
Through a memorandum, he demanded that Bahragora area under Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency is a densely populated area as well as a tribal and backward area. A large number of workers and peasants live here. This place is also known as Triveni Sangam due to being the border area of Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha states. Despite this, there is no hospital available in this area for high quality medical treatment. Due to which patients have to travel far away from the need of high quality medical treatment. Many people die untimely during the journey.
In the course of the talks, the MP informed the Minister that high level medical facilities are not available to the people of intermediate and poor families, so it is very important in the public interest.
On this, the Union Minister expressed his policy concurrence and said that he would seriously consider setting up a 100-bed state-of-the-art hospital with the assistance of the Central Government in the district. The Union Minister said that ICU and CCU facilities will also be available in this hospital and the facility of specialists will also be restored. Along with this, it will be better monitored under the supervision of the center.
Apart from this, MP Mahto also demanded the establishment of two new medical colleges under East Singhbhum district. He said that this area is a backward and tribal dominated area, mostly farmers and working class people reside here, due to having only one medical college in such a large area, the students here have to go to other states for medical studies.
