Jamshedpur, Dec 17: The 11th convocation of National Institute of Technology ( NIT) Jamshedpur, Adityapur, will be celebrated on Saturday. Union Human Resource Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will address the event as the chief guest. Union Tribal Welfare Minister Arjun Munda will deliver the convocation address as a special guest and will present certificates to all the successful students. Director of the institute Karunesh Kumar Shukla and Dean Academic Professor Amresh Kumar gave information in this regard by holding a press conference.
He said that Bittu Kumar, a student of civil engineering, has become the topper of B.Tech Engineering of NIT Jamshedpur this year. While Andhra Pradesh student Y. Vahini has been the topper of Post Graduate Engineering. He said that a total of 904 students of this year would be awarded certificates in the convocation ceremony. A total of 587 students of B.Tech, 145 of M.Tech, 84 of MCA and 16 of PhD students will get certificates.
He said that following the Corona guidelines, about 400 students have been invited to the institute to collect certificates. Dean Academics informed that Graduate Topper Bittu Kumar and Post Graduate Topper Y. Silver medals will be given to the toppers of all 16 branches including a gold medal to Vahini. Training and Placement Officer Dr Prahlad Prasad informed that better placement has been done on handsome salaries this year as compared to last year. In which the foreign company Atlassian has locked 6 students of computer science at the highest annual salary of 57 lakhs. Which is a record.
Apart from this, 42 students on the annual salary of 40 to 50 lakhs, 65 students on the annual salary of 30 to 40 lakhs, 120 students on the annual salary of 20 to 30 lakhs have been selected by reputed companies. So far 97 students of computer science, 80 of civil, 84 of electrical, 96 of electronic communication, 89 of mechanical, 72 of production and industrial, 81 of metallurgical and 92 of MCA have been placed.
