Jamshedpur, Dec 11: The Chakradharpur Railway Division is set to build modular operation theatres (OT) in its hospitals, with an estimated expenditure of Rs 4.50 crore. This move aims to enhance medical services and provide modern facilities for railway employees and their dependents. The modular OTs will be equipped with advanced machines for conducting surgeries.
The Chakradharpur Divisional Hospital, which currently performs two to three surgeries daily, will see its existing operation theatre converted into a modular facility. The proposal for this upgrade was submitted by Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. SK Mishra to Gardenreach, which was subsequently approved by the Medical Director of the South East Railway Zone.
Dr. Mishra expressed optimism about the new developments, stating, “This upgrade will ensure better healthcare services for railway employees and their families, utilizing the latest medical technology.”
In addition to the upgrade at Chakradharpur, four specialist doctors are set to be appointed at Tatanagar Railway Hospital. This is part of an initiative by the South Eastern Railway Zone to improve healthcare facilities across its hospitals. Interviews for these specialist positions have already been completed, ensuring that qualified professionals will be joining the hospital soon.
