Jamshedpur, May 11: The Interact Club of Motilal Nehru Public School (MNPS) conducted a donation drive of a unique kind to reach out a caring hand to the needy and less fortunate segment. What made this drive unique was that no money was collected. Instead, teachers, students and staff of the school donated biscuit packets and soap bars. The drive received whole-hearted support that yielded a collection of 500 pieces of soap bars and an equal number of biscuit packets.
Part of the collection was presented to Ashirwad Old Age Home where the students spent quality time with the inmates and created sparks of joy among the elderly residents. The MNPS Interact Club members also paid a visit to ‘Masti ki Pathshala,’ run by Tata Steel’s TSRDS where biscuits and soap bars were distributed among the students of the Pathshala. The MNPS Interactors visited Meherbai Tata Memorial Hospital where they shared joy with the patient and gifted them biscuit packets and soap bars. Interact Club Moderator, teacher Madhuja Ghosh inspired the Club members in this unique drive.
MNPS Principal, Ashu Tiwary observed, “Such programmes provide students an opportunity to give back to the community in their own little way. These activities inculcate in the students the values that make for a responsible and caring citizen.”
