Jamshedpur MLA Saryu warns of mass protest against power cuts 

Jamshedpur, September 3: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy has intimated energy department principal secretary (Avinash Kumar) and MD JBVNL of imminent mass protest in Jamshedpur if the power situation does not improve in non-company areas of Jamshedpur.

Saryu Roy in a press release that,people will be compelled to take to the road and express their anger and that he has informed about this to principal Secretary, electricity department and the Managing Director of Jharkhand  Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited to either improve the power situation in Jamshedpur or make arrangements to get the citizens of Jamshedpur electricity from TSUIS (formerly Jusco)

“There is a huge power cut every day from the Golmuri power grid of Jamshedpur. As a result people have to face darkness at night. Golmuri Grid requires 70 MW of electricity per day. But only 30 to 40 MW is being available. I have warned the energy secretary of the Government and the Managing Director of the Electricity Distribution Corporation that if the power cut is not stopped in this area, then we will be forced to put a lockout on the regional office of electricity,” said Roy. 

“The highest expenditure of the state government is on the electricity department. Electricity is not reaching the people due to lack of management of the government. First of all, the government should remove the corruption and mismanagement in the electricity department,” added Roy.
