Jamshedpur: Miscreants dupe using fake ID of bureaucrat

Jamshedpur, November 28: Cheating is being done by creating a fake account on Facebook in the name of former Ghatshila SDO cum former executive officer of Chakulia Nagar Panchayat Arvind Lal.

 First friend request is being sent from the said account. After this, attempts to cheat are being made through messages. Many people have become victims of fraud. A young man from Chakulia told that a few days ago a friend request was sent to him. After accepting the friend request, he was messaged that one of his friends (who is a CRPF officer in Jamshedpur) has been transferred to Srinagar. They want to sell their furniture. After this, he took the WhatsApp number and sent a picture of the furniture. Its price was said to be Rs 55,000. It was said in the message that after making advance payment of Rs 20,000, the furniture will be delivered to the house in a CRPF vehicle without any fare.

 After this the remaining payment has to be made. People are surprised to receive the message from an officer holding such a high position. About a dozen people of Chakulia have received such a message.

Arvind Lal has registered a case in the cyber police station. When Arvind Lal was contacted on telephone regarding this matter by a vernacular, he expressed concern. He said that such complaints are being received for the last 5-6 months. He has also registered a case in the cyber police station. Arvind Lal is currently working as secretary in the secretariat located in Ranchi.

It is being told that the fraudsters are sending WhatsApp messages from mobile number 7848069719. There is a picture of a young man wearing CRPF uniform on it.
