Jamshedpur: March deadlines for Food Distribution under PDS

Jamshedpur: The district administration has issued crucial directives regarding the distribution of food grains and essential commodities under the Public Distribution System (PDS), setting clear deadlines for beneficiaries to collect their entitlements.

As per the official notification, rice and wheat under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) for February 2025 will be available until March 10. Additionally, backlog rice for green ration cardholders from May 2024 will be distributed from March 1 to 15.

In a major update, the long-pending distribution of salt and sugar for April, May, and June 2024 will also take place between March 1 and 15. Under the Sona Sobran Dhoti Sari Yojana, the administration has committed to completing the distribution of dhotis and sarees for April, May, and June 2024 by the end of March.

Furthermore, the distribution of gram dal for December 2024 has commenced from March 1, ensuring that beneficiaries receive their entitled rations without delay.

In a bid to streamline the distribution process and eliminate discrepancies, the administration has mandated 100% KYC completion of all PDS beneficiaries by March 15. All PDS operators have been instructed to adhere to the deadline, ensuring no eligible household is left out.
