Jamshedpur: District Skill Committee charts roadmap for youth employment

Jamshedpur: In line with the directives of Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, the District Skill Committee convened a meeting at the Collectorate Auditorium under the chairmanship of Project Director ITDA, Deepankar Chaudhary. The meeting focused on formulating an employment-driven action plan to train unemployed youth and link them with self-employment opportunities.

Project Director Deepankar Chaudhary emphasized that government skill development schemes not only generate employment but also empower youth towards self-reliance. Reviewing the ongoing Skill Development Scheme, he directed officials to devise an action plan tailored to the talent and skills of local youth, ensuring they receive appropriate training and placement. Additionally, he stressed the importance of employment fairs to facilitate job opportunities.

During the session, discussions were held on drafting and implementing the Skill Development Plan 2024-25, with a special focus on identifying new job sectors aligned with local demands. The committee explored on-the-job training opportunities, enhancement of existing skill development centers, and inter-departmental collaboration to streamline skill development initiatives.

Employment officers, training partners, and key stakeholders attended the meeting, exchanging insights, challenges, and suggestions to maximize the effectiveness of the program. The administration reaffirmed its commitment to bridging the skill gap and fostering sustainable employment for the district’s youth.
