Jamshedpur, August 8: In a shocking incident, a 50-year-old man, Turtan Kandulna, was brutally murdered near Kitadih Super Boys Club ground under Parsudih police station. The accused, Pratik Hans, was arrested while attempting to flee from Seraikela to Khunti. The incident occurred late Wednesday night after a liquor party at Pratik’s rented home, where both men consumed alcohol together. A heated argument ensued when Kandulna, intoxicated, began advising Pratik to find a job and stop wasting his time. The argument escalated into a physical altercation, during which Pratik picked up a stone and crushed Kandulna’s head, killing him on the spot.
Pratik, originally from Khunti but living in Kitadih for the past two years, fled the scene immediately after the crime. The following morning, Kandulna’s body was discovered by locals, who informed the Parsudih police. The police quickly took the body into custody and sent it to MGM Medical College for postmortem.
A murder case has been registered based on the statement of the deceased’s brother, Idan Kandulna. Preliminary investigations revealed that Pratik had been living in the area with his father, who works locally, while Pratik himself was unemployed and kept to himself. The Parsudih police have also sought information from Khunti police about Pratik’s criminal history, although no formal cases were found against him, except for a minor theft incident that was settled at the Panchayat level.
Faiz Ahmed, the in-charge of Parsudih police station, confirmed that a case has been registered, and Pratik is in custody awaiting further legal proceedings.
