Jamshedpur man gets life term for killing septuagenarian

Seraikela, May 27: The court of Additional Sessions Judge II of Seraikela Civil Court Kankan Pattadar here on Friday sentenced one Bala Singh Munda to rigorous imprisonment for killing a 70 year-old woman. It also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him.

The case dates back to 7th August 2018 when the deceased victim, Bala Singh Mundain, was brutally killed in Amanadri village under Ichagarh police station area. The body of the deceased was found lying in a pool of blood on the ground. Fatal head injuries were found on it. According to cops, the woman was killed with the help of canes and stone.

The deceased had had an altercation with one Bala Singh Munda, Sari Singh Mundain and Gunjari Singh Munda of the village over irrigation of their farms. Bala Singh Munda had threatened Mundain of dire consequences, police had said.
