Jamshedpur man arrested in gang-rape case

Jamshedpur, Feb 13: The police arrested one of the accused Lakhi Patar alias Hathi in a gang rape case and sent him to judicial custody on Sunday. He is a resident of Dimna Basti of Olidih police station area. The incident took place on 11 August 2021. In this case, MGM police had already arrested five accused and sent them to jail. Six accused had carried out the incident by planning. On the night of the incident, all the accused had entered the house after finding the woman alone. After this the door was locked from inside. First, all the accused had assaulted the woman and snatched her mobile phone, after which they raped in turn. While leaving, he had threatened that if he took the matter to the police station, he would kill him.

As soon as the matter reached the police station, MGM police raided and arrested the five accused on 15 August 2021 and sent them to judicial custody. The sixth accused Lakhi Patar was absconding since the incident. Late on Saturday night, MGM police had received secret information that the accused had come to his house. After that the police raided his house and caught him.
