Jamshedpur, Feb 13: The initiative to install a life-size statue of former MLA Late Dinanath Pandey, proposed by the BJM Yuva Morcha on Tuesday, 15 February, has been postponed following a heated argument due to opposition from BJP leader Appa Rao, close to Raghubar Das. BJM Yuva Morcha District President Amit Sharma issued a press statement to this effect on Sunday.
Sharma said that as a mark of respect to the popular former MLA of the city, the leader of the people, Dinanath Pandey, it was decided by the BJM Yuva Morcha to install his life-size statue at Sanjay Sadbhavna Market, located in the main three plate chowk of the city. The idol was made by the famous craftsman of Chakradharpur. The statue had reached the city and on Monday 14 February, along with the supporters of Dina Baba and the people of the East, the statue was to be duly installed in Sanjay Sadbhavna Market but on February 15, Appa Rao, the dedicated leader of BJP. The program had to be postponed due to unprovoked protests aimed at political interests. After assessing all the circumstances, the BJM Yuva Morcha has decided that the installation work of Deenanath Pandey’s statue will be done after mutual consultation after getting permission from the administration.
