Jamshedpur man arrested for allegedly killing wife for dowry

Jamshedpur, March 11: Parsudih police arrested one Milan Kumar Das, a resident of Gadra Niche Tola, for allegedly killing his wife, Savita Mukhi, 23, for dowry, sources said.

Police officials said a case of dowry killing was registered by them in this connection on the complaint of Savita’s parents and matrimonial relatives. Savita’s parents said Milan had informed one of their relatives, Manoj Mukhi, that Savita had committed suicide by hanging self to death.

When Manoj reached Savita’s house, he found her body lying on the bed. He said he had last spoken to Savita on 10^th March at 8.27 pm. He said Savita had given him hint that her life was in danger, sources said.

Savita’s parents said her in-laws did not like her due to her belonging to a different caste.
