Jamshedpur, Oct 15: In a major breakthrough, Jugsalai police have arrested the prime accused, Raj, in connection with the firing incident that took place on the night of October 12 in the Jugsalai area.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by the Jugsalai Officer-in-Charge conducted a raid and apprehended Raj with a country-made pistol in his possession.

The incident occurred near Javed Hotel in Milatnagar, Jugsalai, where Raj and his associates allegedly opened fire three to four rounds—on Samir Saif and his aide Altamash, following an old rivalry.

The sudden gun fire created panic in the area, prompting the police to launch an immediate investigation.

According to sources, the police received intelligence that the accused was hiding at a secret location.

Acting swiftly, a team raided the spot and nabbed him along with the weapon used in the crime.

Raj is currently being interrogated at the Jugsalai police station.

Officers are trying to trace his accomplices and determine the source of the firearms used in the attack.

The Jugsalai officer-in-charge said that based on information extracted from Raj, raids are being carried out to nab the remaining absconding members of the group.

Police officials expressed confidence that the entire gang will be arrested soon. Local residents have welcomed the police action, expressing relief after days of tension that followed the shooting incident.
