Jamshedpur, June 3: Police have arrested four accused in the kidnapping of Akash Kumar Sinha, a resident of Kharangajhar under Telco police station of Jamshedpur.
The arrested accused include Abhishek Kumar, resident of Sidgora Post Office Ground, Sunny Nayak and Pradeep Kumar, resident of Sitaramdera Oraon Basti, resident of Bagunnagar.
The involvement of a total of 11 people has come to the fore in this case. Police is conducting raids to arrest other people.
Giving information, SSP Dr M Tamil Vanan said that the recce was being done for 15 days to kidnap Akash. Abhishek had also called Akash several times for a job. Akash has a lot of money and he earns money wrongly, Abhishek informed Sunil about it. After which four people together did a recce to carry out the incident. On May 27, the day of the incident, everyone together kidnapped Akash and Shubham. From here the two were taken to the PM Mall, from where Shubham took Seraikela and Akash was taken to Sidhgora and kept at a companion’s house in Sidhgora. From here, Abhishek called his fellow Pradeep who was a student of B.Tech and inquired about the money invested by Akash. Abhishek inquired about Akash’s cryptocurrency and tried to transfer it to his account but it was not transferred. After which Akash asked for money from his family members. Both were released after paying the ransom money. He told that two Home Guard personnel are also involved in carrying out the incident.
One accused is absconding with money
The accused who had taken the money in this case is said to be absconding. The SSP said that the incident was carried out with the help of a fake pistol used in the incident. At present, the police is conducting raids to arrest the other accused.
Significantly, Akash Kumar Sinha was kidnapped on 27 May. A ransom of 60 lakhs was demanded from the relatives of Akash. The relatives gave 13 lakhs and Akash gave Rs one lakh from his account. The relatives gave the ransom amount near the gate number 2 of Jubilee Park. Akash was released the next day.
