Jharkhand CM blames Centre for using Central agencies to disturb state’s progress

New application format and pension for statehood fighter released

Ranchi, June 3: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren facing controversy over office of profit and facing a PIL in High Court seeking probe for alleged irregularities in grant of mining lease and transactions of some shell companies accused BJP-led Central government of hampering state’s development using Central agencies like Enforcement Directorate and Election Commission. 

Addressing a program  held to launch identification of those who had fought for separate statehood of Jharkhand at Ranchi on Friday Hemant Soren made an all out attack against the Central government and its agencies.

“Though I am addressing you as chief minister, my greatest identification is being a son of a fighter for a separate state. After coming to power in the state we had to face the Covid-19 pandemic for over two years which almost halted development works, now as we have begun intensifying pace of development the Central government is using constitutional institutions against us to slow down this pace of development,” said Soren.

 Hemant Soren said, “State we will fight this move of the Central government and come out clean and victorious.”

Significantly, Election Commissioned had issued notice to chief minister for owning a mining lease in his power and why he should not be disqualified. 

Soren claimed that there is a perception among those in power at Centre to loot minerals in the state taking advantage of the illiteracy.The process of marking was complicated, now the agitators were marked in a new way. These things were said by CM Hemant Soren on the occasion of the launch of the identification of the agitators. The identification of the agitators was launched in the auditorium located at Project Bhawan, on this occasion former CM Shibu Soren unveiled the logo as the chief guest. About 500 agitators and their families had reached the program.
Chief Minister said in the program that 5000 model schools will be constructed in the state. Work is also going on at the district level. The studies that take place in schools like DAV and DPS will be done in government model schools also. Resources for education will be made available on the lines of private schools. So that children coming from poor families will also get the opportunity of integrated education. These schools will be equipped with various state-of-the-art resources for teaching, including smart classes, digital libraries, STEM labs.

In the program, CM also targeted the center, he said that the country is running from the mineral wealth of the state. The people here are in bad shape. Since independence, till today f Rs 1.36 lakh crore is due on the Centre. Although thousand and twelve crores have also been paid. If the central government gives interest on this amount, then we will make the state like Bangalore and Hyderabad. Power was occupied by such people who made the state a den of loot. The development of the state did not mean anything. They committed all the sins and put them on my shoulders. Earlier, the center had the right over the mineral wealth and we used to get the rest. Now that won’t happen. We have made such laws that those people will eat leftovers. He said that after the formation of the government, the pace of development was increased, but the constitutional body is trying to stop it. Wants to push us back.Under the new policy for agitators of separate state, the police will directly appoint a member of the dependent family of the agitators who have died in firing or jail or are disabled during the agitation in the third and fourth class posts of the state government. For one dependent of other candidates, the benefit of horizontal reservation of five percent will be given in government appointments on third and fourth class posts. In the event of restraint and death in jail, the agitator or one of his dependents will be given honor pension for life.

Under this, a benefit of Rs 3500 per month will be given if he is in jail for less than three months, Rs 5000 per month if he stays between three months and six months and Rs 7000 per month if he stays more than six months. All the people who have contributed to the Jharkhand Movement and their dependents, in the category of dependent, the wife of the agitator, daughter, unmarried daughter, widowed wife of the son, husband of the agitating woman, grandson of the agitator, granddaughter will be eligible. Beneficial agitators will apply for this in the State Level Office of the Marking Commission and the office of the concerned District Deputy Commissioner.
