Jamshedpur: Setting a shining example of compassion and humanity, little Jasraj Singh, a resident of Home Pipe, has donated his entire piggy bank savings of Rs 6,413 to help the victims of floods in Punjab.
Jasraj had been saving this amount throughout the year and initially wanted to present it as a special birthday gift for his father Charanjit Singh. However, after seeing the devastation caused by floods in Punjab on social media, he decided to contribute his savings for the relief of those affected.
On Thursday, Jasraj reached the office of the Central Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (CGPC) in Sakchi along with his father and handed over the amount to CGPC head Bhagwan Singh. “It is the duty of all of us to help Punjab and Punjabis come out of this calamity,” said Jasraj, with determination far beyond his years.
CGPC President Bhagwan Singh praised the young boy’s noble gesture, saying, “Such a great spirit at such a young age is truly inspirational for society.”
Prominent members present on the occasion included CGPC President Bhagwan Singh, President Sardar Shailendra Singh, Gurmeet Singh Tote, General Secretary Gurcharan Singh Billa, Amarjit Singh, Treasurer Gurnam Singh Bedi, Sukhwinder Singh Raju, Sukhdev Singh Bittu, Jaimal Singh, Harwinder Singh Mantu, Joginder Singh Jogi, and Naujwan Sabha President Amrik Singh.
