BJP Jamshedpur prepares for ‘Seva Pakhwada’ from Sept 17 to Oct 2

Jamshedpur, Sept 4: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will celebrate Seva Pakhwada across the country from September 17, the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to October 2, Gandhi Jayanti. In Jamshedpur, extensive preparations are underway to mark the occasion with a series of social, cultural, and service-oriented programs.

On Wednesday, a one-day workshop was organized at Sheetla Bhawan Auditorium in Bhalubasa under the chairmanship of BJP Jamshedpur Mahanagar President Sudhanshu Ojha. The workshop was attended by Jharkhand BJP State General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu, Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahto, former state president Dr. Dineshanand Goswami, former MP Abha Mahto, state secretary Nandji Prasad, Saroj Singh, campaign team members Shailendra Singh and Jatashankar Pandey, district coordinator Babua Singh, and other senior leaders.

Speaking on the occasion, District President Sudhanshu Ojha said “Seva Pakhwada is an opportunity to strengthen the party at the grassroots level by directly connecting with people on issues of social concern.” He urged workers to plan and execute the campaign effectively to ensure its success.

Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu elaborated on the wide range of activities scheduled during the fortnight. These included a cleanliness drive across Jamshedpur, the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam tree plantation campaign, blood donation and health camps, distribution of artificial limbs, and an exhibition highlighting the life, struggles, and achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Programs such as ‘Prabuddha Varg Samvad’ (intellectual meet), Vocal for Local campaign, and book distribution on Modi’s biography have also been planned. The BJP will also commemorate the birth anniversaries of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay on September 25 and Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on October 2, promoting Khadi, indigenous goods, and the spirit of self-reliance.

Adding a new dimension to the campaign, Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahto announced that a grand MP Sports Competition would be organized under Seva Pakhwada. Covering athletics, football, volleyball, hockey, boxing, wrestling, badminton, basketball, and kho-kho, the tournament will be held from the Mandal to the Lok Sabha level, with the finals scheduled for December. He said the event will encourage healthy competition, discipline, and team spirit among youth, while also aligning with the government’s sports initiatives such as Khelo India.

Former state president Dr. Dineshanand Goswami praised Prime Minister Modi as a global symbol of visionary leadership, citing initiatives like Atmanirbhar Bharat, Digital India, Startup India, and Swachh Bharat. He stressed that BJP workers were committed to carrying forward Modi’s vision through Seva Pakhwada.

The workshop was anchored conduction by District General Secretary Sanjeev Singh and a vote of thanks was offered by Pawan Agarwal.
