Jamshedpur, Feb 2: Kanhaiya Singh, associate of gangster Akhilesh Singh, has reportedly formed his own gang and is allegedly running an extortion racket in the city, police sources said.
Sources said the recent incident of attempt to enter the Civil Court building by Anshu Chouhan, nephew of Kanhaiya Singh, with a loaded gun has put the gang on police radar. Cops are searching for four associates of Anshu, identified as Babu alias Ajay Tiwary, Ashish Tiwary and Bunty Singh alias Polu. A case under Arms Act has been lodged against the five.
During interrogation, Anshu had reportedly told cops Kanhaiya had given him the gun and asked him to kill one Ronit Gupta, driver of Monu Singh, a Jugsalai resident.
