Jamshedpur, Nov 21: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) Special Officer, Sanjay Kumar Singh and other officials, went around the city and distributed blankets among poor, physically challenged, children and elderly women in view of the brisk dip in mercury. Starting from the Sakchi roundabout and going around other city points, blankets were also distributed among rickshaw pullers, footpath women vendors and passing physically challenged people.
The JNAC team led by Special Officer Sanjay Kumar Singh next visited the women’s shelter home near the MGMC Hospital and inspected the premises and the facilities provided there. Blankets were distributed among the elderly women and children put up in the women’s shelter home. The shelter home in-charge was directed to ensure that women boarders and children did not face any difficulty. He was also instructed to maintain proper records of women and children’s arrival and departure.
The JNAC Special Officer informed that very soon wood would be placed at various city intersections so that commuters along the intersection roads could make bonfire to warm themselves during biting chill conditions. THE JNAC team also included City Managers Ravi Bharti, Sonal Singh Chauhan, Anay Raj and Joy Guriya, City Mission Manager Vidya Singh along with members of the Flying Squad team who went around the city distributing blankets among the elderly, infirm and children.
