Jamshedpur JMM leader robbed of Rs 40,000 in Kamalpur

Jamshedpur, April 10: Armed criminals looted cash worth Rs 40,000 from a JMM leader in Bangurda under Kamalpur police station area on Saturday.

Sources said the incident took place late night when the victim Mantu Mahato, JMM panchayat president of Bangurda and a supplier of building materials, was on his way home on a motorcycle. Mahato was accompanied by his two friends. Midway, he was intercepted by a group of 10-12 miscreants armed with canes and guns. One of the criminals reportedly put a gun on the victim’s head and pulled the trigger. The bullet reportedly misfired. Before leaving, the criminals beat up the victim and snatched cash and mobile phone from him.

The injured JMM Leader was taken to MGM Hospital. Local MLA Mangal Kalindi reached the hospital to see Mahato. Mahato said he was attacked following a well laid out plan by the criminals.
