Jamshedpur, July 2: A bike rider injured in a road accident in Dhatkidih under Bistupur police station of Jamshedpur died during treatment at TMH on Saturday evening.
The deceased is 62-year-old Ishwar Gupta, a resident of GS Galaxy Apartment, Purani Basti Road, Jugsalai. His wife Manju Gupta is undergoing treatment, where her condition is also critical. It is said that Ishwar Gupta, a resident of Jugsalai, was going back to his home from Kalibari along with his wife Manju Gupta. They were traveling on scooty.
Meanwhile, Hero Honda Splendor vehicle number JH 05 BL – 2961 coming from the opposite direction collided head-on, causing both the husband and wife to fall and sustain injuries.
The condition of Ishwar Gupta was critical, who died in TMH during treatment. In this regard, an FIR has been registered against the driver of the vehicle in Bistupur police station.
It is said that the police arrested the driver of the vehicle but later released him. The family members have alleged that the police is not arresting the driver under pressure. The deceased Ishwar Gupta has two children, out of which one child is also abroad. The last rites will be performed after his return.
