Garhwa, October 21: Chief Minister Hemant Soren, while addressing a public meeting in Garhwa during the nomination of Minister Mithilesh Thakur, accused the ED and CBI of functioning as political agents of the BJP. He claimed that members of his party were being threatened and asserted that the people of Garhwa would secure a record victory in the upcoming elections, ensuring the opposition candidates’ forfeiture of their security deposits.

Soren emphasized that his government was set to complete its five-year term for the first time in Jharkhand’s history, despite challenges. He expressed concern over the central government’s use of constitutional institutions as puppets to silence voices raised against the BJP. He also criticized opposition attempts to divide the people and questioned the government’s unfulfilled promises, including doubling farmers’ incomes.
The CM highlighted his government’s achievements, such as waiving ₹2 lakh in farmer loans, improving electricity and water access, enhancing education, and building roads in Garhwa. He also mentioned the provision of 200 units of free electricity to the poor and plans to deposit ₹2500 in the accounts of women from December. Soren concluded by reaffirming that he would not be intimidated by threats from the ED and CBI. (w/gsd)
