Laddu Mangotia is a well known railway contractor and a resident of Jugsalai while Rahul Agrawal is also a resident of Jugsalai and runs a travel agency.

The arrest of the five persons was made after the Senior SP Anoop Birtharay initiated a fresh enquiry into the Hotel Alcor case, suspecting those released on PR bond might have been involved in illegal and immoral activities at Hotel Alcor during the period of lockdown.

SSP Anoop Birtharay said that they arrested five persons, including a girland forwarded them to the Ghagidih Central Jail after producing them before a Judicial Magistrate on Monday.

Acting on a tip off, Bistupur police had arrested three persons from The Alcor Hotel on Saturday. They were arrested for breaking lockdown norms and later released them on PR Bond the same night. However, as the news spread the police had to take concrete steps.

Speaking to newsmen, Birtharay informed, We came to know that some illegal activities were also going on in the hotel and so I set up a team which carried out a thorough investigation in the hotel on Sunday. There we found a girl who was staying at the hotel since March 23. On being interrogated the girl revealed that she had a relationship with one Sharad Poddar and hence she was staying at the instance of Poddar there.

On the basis of the girl’s statement we further probed the matter and concluded that this was a case under the purview of Immoral Traffic Act. And hence we arrested Poddar, one of his associates Rahul Agrawal, Hotel Alcor owner Rajiv Duggal and hotel manager Dhananjay Singh.”
