Ranchi, April 26: Twenty people tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday in Jharkhand, the highest single-day jump in the number cases yet, officials said. All the fresh cases have been reported from Ranchi which took the total number of those tested positive to 103 in Jharkhand. Earlier, sixteen people were tested corona positive on April 26 while April 18 saw single day jump of corona patient to eight.
In Ranchi the hotspot Hindpiri reported eight positive cases, three cases each were reported in Bedo and Itki while Kadru, kanke, Doranda, RIMS isolation ward, Railway Station road, Seva Sadan reported one case each on Monday. All the Corona positive patients will be admitted to COVID-19 centre. The Corona positive people include Jharkhand police�s ASI and a ambulance driver.
Red Zone Ranchi has recorded 75 Corona positive cases while the COVID-19 cases in hotspot Hindpiri have jumped to 53 on Monday from 45 on Sunday. Earlier on Sunday state capital Ranchi�s Kantatoli, Bariatu and Lowadih reported one corona positive case each, Gurunanak School�s sanitation worker who is a resident of Gaya in Bihar, two from Bedo and five nurse of Sadar hospital have been tested positive.

Total number of cases in the state rises to 103 now,� said Nitin Madan Kulkarni, Jharkhand Health Secretary.
Out of the total 103 positive cases so far, 75 are from Ranchi, 10 from Bokaro, three from Hazaribagh, Palamau and Garhwa, two each from Dhanbad, Deoghar and Simdega.
One person each from Giridih, Koderma and Jamtara has also tested positive for coronavirus.
The 22-year-old Malaysian woman, the first coronavirus positive patient detected in the state on March 31 was discharged from RIMS on Friday after she recovered from the infection, according to Principal Secretary (Health) Nitin Madan Kulkarni. The woman was among the 17 foreign nationals found in a mosque at Hindpiri in Ranchi on March 29.
With the Coronavirus pandemic reaching Jamtara on Sunday, ten districts of Jharkhand have been affected from the deadly virus. Ranchi, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Giridih, Hazaribagh, Simdega, Garhwa and Deoghar are the other affected districts.
Meanwhile, Jharkhand High Court has asked the state government to submit a detailed plan of accommodating the stranded and migrant labourers who will return to the state after the Lockdown ends on 3rd of May.
