DC holds meeting, says will leave no stone unturned to make the tournament a success
Jamshedpur, March 13: Steel City is geared up to host the SAFF U-18 Women’s Championship football tournament.
The matches will be played in JRD Tata Sports Complex from March 15 to 25.
To ensure everything goes on smoothly, East Singhbhun DC Jadhav Vijaya Narayan Rao on Saturday presided over a review meeting at the Collectorate.
The meeting focused on law and order, traffic arrangements, safe movement of players from hotel to stadium and back to hotel, accommodation, medical facilities, broadcasting etc.
DC gave necessary guidelines to the concerned officials to ensure everything is in place ahead of the event.
It is worth mentioning that U-18 women’s teams from India, Nepal and Bangladesh are participating in the tournament.
Deputy Commissioner said, “It is a matter of pride for Jamshedpur to host such an international level tournament and no stone will be left unturned to ensure a safe environment for the players and make the tournament a grand success.”
All India Football Federation (AIFF) representative informed that the Nepal team will reach Jamshedpur by Sunday while the Indian team has already in the city and is practicing ahead of the start of the championship.
It was also informed that all matches of the tournament will be played at JRD Sports Complex while Tata Football Academy ground and Kadma situated JFC Flatlet Ground have been earmarked for players to practice.
The first match between India and Nepal will be played on March 15, while the final match of the tournament will be held on March 25.
DC Rao said that such an international tournament will help local and district level players to learn a lot and get inspired from top level players.
DC also directed to depute an adequate number of magistrates and security forces at the entry point of players’ accommodation, JRD Sports Complex, Tata Football Academy and JFC Ground.
Traffic DSP was also asked to take necessary action regarding smooth traffic arrangements during the movement of players from hotel to the stadium and back to the hotel.
To ensure Covid-19 infection remains at bay, DC said, masks and sanitizers along with the facility of RTPCR test should be made available in the ground.
All India Football Federation’s Anil Kamat, Vinod Kumar, ADM Law & Order Nandkishore Lal, Director DRDA Saurabh Sinha, Additional Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) Dr. Sahir Pal, District Sports Officer Rohit Kumar, Jamshedpur FC CEO Mukul Choudhary, Vikas Anthony, Uday Basak, representatives of BSNL and other concerned officials were present during the meeting.
