Jamshedpur, August 31: Two years of suppressed celebratory mood due to COVID fears erupted on Wednesday with Ganeshotsav being organized with renewed zest from cities to rural areas in the three Kolhan districts of East Singhbhum, Saraikela-Kharsawan and West Singhbhum.

In fact, cloudy conditions and intermittent light to heavy showers could not dampen the rejuvenated spirit of people as citizens crowded markets to purchase Lord Ganesh’s idols of various sizes and styles and of course the budget leeway.

Ganesh Puja Pandals ranged from simple to grand in matters of décor and size. But the mood that prevailed was unrestrained celebratory.

To give vent to this emotion, the mood was on the upswing at the famous Ganesh Puja of Kadma on the eve of the festivities on Tuesday.

The stalls of various sizes were undergoing final touches and arrangements with promises of a ‘Fair’ atmosphere after a two year lull that had seemed ages.

Prayer rituals were completed by afternoon in all pandals and beelines for prashad were observed in these places of worship.

The festive lid has been opened and the aroma of celebration is permeating the air irrespective of clouds or sporadic rains.

After all, Ganesh Chaturthi is the precursor to the festive seasons ahead.
