Jamshedpur: Four ‘Brown Sugar’ sellers-buyers in police net

Jamshedpur, Nov 30: Intensifying their war against drugs and to break the supply chain, Bagbera police have arrested four people involved in the buying and selling of brown sugar in the area. A total of 14 bags of brown sugar have been recovered from them. The arrested accused included Raj Kumar, a resident of Kitadih Old Post Office, Varun Prajapati, a resident of Kitadih Mansa Mandir, Amit Singh, a resident of Burmamines Carriage Colony, and Ravi Kumar Das of Bagbera  Postunagar.

In this regard, in-charge DSP Law and Order Animesh Gupta said that ASI Virendra Rai of Bagbera  police station, who was patrolling last night, received secret information regarding brown sugar.

After this, as soon as the police reached near Kitadih Dosa Corner, two youths started running away after seeing the police. The police caught Raj Kumar and Varun Kumar who were running away. During the search, 14 bags of brown sugar kept hidden in Raj’s mobile cover were recovered. During interrogation, both confessed that they had come after purchasing brown sugar from Amit and Ravi. He said that Amit Singh and Ravi Kumar bring and sell brown sugar from Das. According to DSP, Ravi and Amit have gone to jail from Tatanagar railway station in the past. The police have sent all the four accused to judicial custody after questioning.
