Jaduguda: Four youths were arrested by the Jaduguda police on Wednesday for making obscene photographs and videos of a minor viral on social media. The arrested individuals include the minor’s lover, Dhaneshwar Bhakat and his friends Dheeraj Kumar, Rakesh Bhakat and Jitendra Bhakat, all residents of Jaduguda village, Bhutkadih, Kalapani.
The arrest followed an FIR lodged by the minor’s father at Jaduguda police station. The complaint states that on January 18, the family received a threatening call on WhatsApp and mobile, demanding Rs 30,000 in exchange for not making obscene photos and videos of the minor viral. The caller warned that if the money was not paid, the images would be posted on social media. Despite the refusal to comply with the demand, the accused went ahead and circulated the photos and videos on January 19 at 10 PM.
The police acted swiftly, arresting the accused and sending them to jail on charges related to the harassment and exploitation of the minor. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident and are taking steps to prevent such cases of online exploitation in the future.
