Jamshedpur, March 1: Heavy vehicles will be barred from entering the city limits from 3rd March to 5th March in view of Founder’s Day celebrations.

East Singhbhum district administration has issued an order in this regard. As per a joint order issued by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vijaya Jadhav, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and DSP Traffic Kamal Kishore, the no entry order will be effective from 3 pm till midnight every day. Only buses would be allowed, sources said.
The Steel City is all set to celebrate the 184rd birth anniversary of its iconic and visionary founder Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata on March 3, 2023.
This year’s theme of Founder’s Day is “Greennovation-Make Tomorrow Green”
To give the occasion an excitingly colourful look of Alice’s Wonderland, 40 landmark locations across Jamshedpur including heritage buildings, places of worship, dozens of roundabouts, etc. will be illuminated with exquisite light designs.
The use of colorful lights as a key part of the celebrations will be a welcome reminder to citizens and visitors on the beauty of the city. Among other projects, the main attraction this year will be inauguration of Jamshedpur Nature Trail and COVID Warrior Park.
The Founder`s Day celebrations at Jamshedpur Works will also be live streamed for employees along with broadcasting Facebook Live on Tata Steel official handle which can be viewed by public worldwide.
Jamshedpur Nature Trail
Talking about the Jamshedpur Nature Trail, Tata Steel VP informed that it is spread over 17 acres from Circuit House area to Marine Drive. “It took three years to complete the work but it will be good add-on to the green cover of the city,” added Chaudhary.
COVID Warrior Park
The triangular park near Bagmati Road close to Keenan Stadium along the Straight Mile Road has been converted into COVID Warrior Park dedicated to the frontline workers who helped people during the hour of crisis.
Chaudhary further said, “It is a small token of appreciation for the frontline workers who worked selflessly at the time of need.”
The park is dedicated to security guards, besides the doctors, nurses and para medical staff of all the hospitals.
Agni steel structure
Tata Steel VP further informed that “Agni” steel structure has been built in place of Rose Garden at Jubilee Park which will be inaugurated by N Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons on March 2.
Jubilee Park: Lighting to remain open from March 3-5
Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director, Tata Steel UISL said that Jubilee Park will be open to public from March 3 to 5. The lighting will be inaugurated by Chairman N Chandrasekaran on March 2 evening. For pedestrians the lighting inside Jubilee Park will be open from 6.30 PM to 10 PM and for drive though the vehicles will be allowed from am PM to 11 PM, Sinha added.
Route for vehicle will be – In from CFE Gate – Lake Turn –Nicco Park – Statue Area – Out through CFE Gate.
He further informed lightings around the statue area and roadside illumination from the CFE Gate to the Sakchi gate via the Baug e Jamsheed Gate and back.
Illumination includes Tree wrapped with LED lights, coloured decorative lights on plants
and shrubs. Decorative shapes on Street light poles
Sinha further said that N Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons will pay homage to the Founder at Jubilee Park on March 2 evening. There will be no traffic flow inside Jubilee Park till March 7 for safety reasons.
On March 3, Founder’s Day Celebrations will be held at Jamshedpur Works followed by programme at Postal Park in Bistupur on March 3.

There will be restriction in traffic flow near the area of Postal Park from 8am – 11am on March 3, 2023. Chairman Tata Sons to pay homage to the Founder on March 3. This will be followed by Pageantry Parade by the Social Organisations on the theme “Greennovation’. There will also be parade by Horse Riders, Parade by NCC Cadets, Skits, Nukkad Natak etc.
Exhibition at Steelennium Hall, Jamshedpur Works
The theme for the exhibition at Steelennium Hall this time is “Greennovation – Make Tomorrow Green”. The exhibition by various departments will showcase innovation (like accelerated use of AI, 3D visualization models for plant & machinery), resilient supply chain with ability to handle global disruptions, sustainability and material circularity for a greener tomorrow, technology leadership – e.g. hydrogen economy, disruptive innovations and use of renewables, unlocking the human dimension-developing skills for tomorrow, organizational agility & excellence.
The Exhibition will be inaugurated by the Chairman,Tata Sons along with senior members of the Tata group on March 3.
TechEx 2023 at SNTI
After a gap of three years, the 13th Science and Technology Exhibition 2023 (popularly known as TechEx) will be held at SNTI, N-Road campus. The young minds of SNTI (Management Trainees, Junior Engineer Trainees, Trade Apprentices, Transgender cadres), employees of Tata Steel group companies and students from various colleges will display their skills and competence in various technological fields. A total of 59 projects will be on display out of which 41 are prepared by the cadre trainees of Tata Steel. The exhibition will be inaugurated on March 2 and will be open for all visitors from March 3 to 5 from 9 am to 6 pm.
Founder’s Day Sports will be organised at JRD Tata Sports Complex and Gopal Maidan on March 2-3.
