Jamshedpur: As per the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, a review meeting on revenue collection was held at the Collectorate Auditorium. The meeting, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhagirath Prasad, assessed the current status of revenue collection across various departments for the financial year 2024-25.
During the meeting, a department-wise review was conducted to evaluate the progress against the set targets. Officials were instructed to achieve 100% of the revenue collection target for the financial year. The departments reviewed included Excise, Transport, Motor Vehicle Inspector, Auction Letter, Fisheries, Municipal Council, Mining, Registrar, and others.
According to the report, the Commercial Tax Department’s circles have achieved 55% of the annual target so far. The Electricity Department’s three divisions have exceeded their targets with more than 100% revenue collection. The Transport Department has achieved 90%, the Excise Department 73%, Registration 69%, and Municipal bodies have collected an average of 75% revenue. Meanwhile, the Mining Department has reached 51% of its target.
The officers of the Mining Department were instructed to take strict action against illegal mining and transportation activities to meet the revenue goals. All concerned department officers were present in the meeting to discuss strategies and action plans to ensure 100% revenue collection by the end of the financial year.
