Jamshedpur Flyover construction progressing rapidly

Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, Feb 16: The construction of the Mango flyover is advancing quickly, with the work currently focused on 32 of the planned 57 pillars for the bridge. The project, aimed at improving traffic flow in the Mango area, is being led by Dinesh Chandra Agarwal’s agency. So far, 26 pillars have been capped, while 32 more are under construction. A notable part of the project involves the creation of a 120-foot long and six-foot high girder being built directly in the Swarnarekha River. These girders are essential for the bridge’s structure and will be moved using special cranes once completed.

The bridge-cum-flyover project is being built at an estimated cost of Rs 252 crore and is expected to alleviate the daily traffic congestion faced by residents of Mango. The flyover will feature a four-lane section near Blue Wells School and a two-lane section extending from Mango’s New Purulia Road to the Marine Drive Maharana Pratap Roundabout. Once finished, the project will significantly improve connectivity, providing smoother travel between Dimna Road and Sakchi.

The construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of March, with work on the bridge expected to formally begin near Blue Wells School. The flyover’s completion will bring much-needed relief to Mango residents, reducing commute time and easing traffic jams, ultimately enhancing overall traffic management in the city.
